Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder is a well-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz, born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her for her hometown. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from an Jewish background. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria and two half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder relocated with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They had no electricity. Ryder developed into a fervent book reader because there was no television. Ryder began to study acting at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged 12. In 1986 she landed her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas aged just 15 years old. Ryder faced bullying during the school she attended. The hope was that her career in acting would improve this. It wasn't to be. However, she continued to pursue her goals. In 1988, she received her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful characters in numerous films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her performance for her performance in The Age of Innocence (1993).
