Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over 20 years. She is the owner and the president of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is a native of California and grew up part of a rich family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in the field of real estate and later was the owner of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. When her parents broke up in 1972, she was convinced that they had abandoned her. When she was 19 years old she joined the family's business as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. In the following years, she created the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. Before she became vice president of the Lakers, she served as president of the Great Western Forum. Buss took over her share of the Lakers from her father in the year 2013. Her five siblings inherited it through a family estate trust. In 2013, Buss took charge for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also co-owns Women of Wrestling, a professional promotion of wrestling with its headquarters within Los Angeles.
